Help with Eddy

Hello,

I’m an urban planning student. I’m also rather new to using Grasshopper. But I manage quite well with some ladybug tools. I’m analyzing an area in Cologne, Germany. My last missing analysis is wind.
I’ve been using the simple wind template from eddy, but I’m having some difficulties transferring it to my Buildings.

First I fail to add a terrain. As soon as I do the Box from the DomainBox will disappear.
Second is when I run the tool without a Terrain I get funny results (picture).

I hope I’m not bothering you too much as I’m only getting started but I would appreciate some advice.

Fritz

Hi Fritz,

Would you mind sharing your case publicly here? I will take a look at it.

Best,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

thanks for your reply. Sure I can.

Hi Fritz,

Your case works fine on my end, see here:

I deleted the terrain input since it was essentially just a flat plate. Here you go:

Windfeld_1.gh (26.3 KB)

Hi Patrick,

thanks a lot for your quick response and your help.
Indeed it works and I get a nice result on paraview now.
But I just can’t seem to make those rainbow colored arrows visible. They stay green and if I press the preview buttons I receive my blue mikado sticks. I must be doing something entirely wrong.
Maybe I’ll find out more with my further use of Eddy.

I appreciate your help and thank you for your time

Greetings from Cologne,Germany

Hi Fritz,

I can tell that you managed to run the simulation. What’s left is to use the probing component to probe your results if you want to have the data in Grasshopper. Check this video for an example:
