hi, If I upgrade to Rhino 8 Can I still run Rhino 7 because some plugins won’t work on v8?
Until all plugins are supported on v8 I still need to use v7. Is that possible?
Thanks
Yes. They had some licensing problems which blocked some users for a while, but I believe that’s been cleared up for the latest V8.
As above for the simple “Can I run both on the same computer”.
Some plugins won’t work because they’re RhinoCommon and don’t support the .NET 7.0 core which Rhino8 defaults to and some won’t work for other reasons.
For the simple .NET issue, you can force Rhino 8 to use the older .NET libraries.
If you have a specific list of plugins others may be able to offer more specific help.
thanks Nathan for your prompt response.
I know VisualArq v2 only works on Rhino7 and doesn’t work on Rhino8 so I don’t want to install Rhino8 and then not been able to use VisualArq. I know v3 is coming but until then I will be using it on Rhino7. That’s the main one I worry about.
Cheers
