Job Title: In-House Computational Designer – Sculptures & Feature Art
Location: Fully Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time (Permanent)
Remuneration: Competitive; to be discussed based on experience
About the Role
We are a Hong Kong-based company leading the design and execution of an exclusive, luxury resort art project in Thailand. Rather than a traditional firm with a massive permanent staff, we operate as a highly agile, streamlined core team that collaborates with top-tier international specialists to bring ambitious visions to life.
We are seeking a dedicated, Full-Time Computational Designer to become an essential, long-term pillar of our operation. In this role, you will be responsible for the parametric development of signature sculptures, monumental art installations, and complex architectural features for the resort. Because our project ecosystem is highly international—spanning our leadership in Hong Kong, site installation in Thailand, and major manufacturing and fabrication pipelines in Mainland China—you will use Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper to turn fluid artistic concepts into highly precise, buildable digital assets ready for factory production.
Key Responsibilities
- Art & Sculpture Development: Execute the parametric modeling and digital sculpting of bespoke site-specific installations, adapting quickly as design directions evolve.
- Robust Parametric Modeling: Develop robust Grasshopper definitions that remain stable and flexible through multiple design changes, optimising for material efficiency and structural integrity.
- Design Iteration & Engineering Updates: Efficiently revise and update 3D models and technical drawings based on creative feedback, structural reviews, and practical site constraints, adhering strictly to company timelines.
- Production File Generation: Generate production-ready files and panelised geometry, ensuring all digital data sets are flawlessly formatted for our manufacturing partners in Mainland China.
- Data Integration: Embed metadata within the 3D models to ensure smooth tracking, material specification, and assembly logic across the fabrication pipeline.
- Cross-Border Coordination: Act as the technical design link, ensuring your digital models seamlessly align with the requirements of external consultants and the on-site installation teams in Thailand.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Software Mastery: Expert-level expertise in Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper is mandatory.
- Design & Sculptural Background: A strong portfolio demonstrating deep experience in large-scale sculpture, public art, or highly complex spatial geometry.
- Fabrication & Material Literacy: Practical knowledge of how digital forms translate into permanent physical structures suitable for durable outdoor environments.
- Deadline-Driven & Adaptable: Thrives in a lean, agile team environment. You must be highly organized and capable of delivering fast, precise updates while adhering strictly to company timelines and project milestones.
- Language Skills (Asset): Fluency in English is required; professional proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Thai is a significant advantage due to our regional manufacturing and site layout.
- Portfolio Requirement: A portfolio that clearly illustrates both your artistic output and the underlying algorithmic/scripting logic behind your designs.
What We Offer
- A permanent, full-time position offering long-term stability and career growth within an elite, agile team environment.
- The unique opportunity to see your digital designs physically realised as permanent landmarks on-site in Thailand.
- A highly flexible, remote-first working culture with competitive salary packages.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV and portfolio directly to marco@vegasoulcap.com. Please ensure your portfolio includes examples of your computational logic/Grasshopper definitions alongside your visual designs.
