Hi all, new here!
I’m attempting to post toolpaths to my Roland MDX 540, to cut 4-axis toolpaths using its ZCL-540 rotary unit.
I’ve programmed a relatively straight forward paralell finishing 4th axis toolpath. I’m expecting to see A-axis and X-axis movement in the G-Code, with the occasional drop in Z toward to lower limit which is well above Z=0. However, using every post-processor I can get my hands on, the G-code posted from Rhinocam includes constant Z movement, and even some Y movement (which should be at a constant 0). This drives the tool straight into the rotating stock.
Its such a simple problem but I cant seem to solve it! Rhinocam seems to be trying to be too clever and move too many axis’s simulatanously, the G-code should be simple… any ideas anyone?
Thanks, S
