Rhino8 displays incorrect X Y Z coordinates when zoomed in

Hello,

Rhino V8 is providing inconsistent X Y Z coordinates for object control points. This makes dimensioning very difficult when the dimension definition grip is set away from the dimensioned object.

In the attached model, set control points on for the polysurface and the dimension. In Right view, select any of the points and observe the displayed X Y coordinates. Zoom in and check again. The displayed coordinates differ with zooming. The displayed values appear to be correct when the entire object is visible, but zooming in changes the values.

The incorrect behaviour also occurs on the dimension control points.

This behaviour did not occur in V6.

Hello,

This is becoming infuriating. It is impossible to check the position of control points when zoomed in. I have also noticed that closed polysurfaces are showing extensions of their edge lines when zooming.

Iā€™m going to do few tests shortly.

okay I see what you are saying, so you are expecting that the bottom crosshair coordinates to be consistent at all zoom levels, I disagree.

1- These are crosshair coordinates not actual point coordinates
2- when you zoom in, your tolerance becomes more finer as the translating from pixel coordinates (screen) to World/Cplane coordinates is becoming finer and finer.

do you usually use this technique to determine to get a point dimension? there is a better way using dot objects.

@tay.othman Thank you. There is always a better way. Much appreciated.
