Rhino WIP terminates when importing or working with pointclouds

The latest update of Rhino 6 (WIP) cannot handle pointclouds.
Importing a pointcloud or viewing pointclouds in existing files causes Rhino 6 to terminate.
The version before worked, the latest does not.

Thanks for the report. I was able to open and also import a pts file here using a slightly newer build of the WIP. Can you post a sample cloud that causes the WIP to close or email one to tech@mcneel.com to my attention?

Hi, This is still an issue and we choose to work with Rhino 5.
If we turn on the layer with the pointcloud, Rhino WIP terminates.

Did you upload a file to tech@mcneel.com using www.Rhino3d.com/upload yet? I find two other support emails from you in September but neither appears to be about this crash report. Please send over the file with instructions on which layer to turn on to see this issue.

Hi, a file is just recently uploaded. Turn on the layer “pointcloud” in the file “IME-5080-0010-01 Hull Hera - Lines Drawing”.
Quick view changes causes Rhino WIP to terminate. I have recently updated Graphics driver with no change.

Could be that the graphiccard runs out of ram, as far as I know Rhino has never looked at the amount of vram used vs amount available, and just crashes when it fills up.

You could see if turning off OpenGL hardware acceleration prevents the crash.

Thanks for the sample file. It displays super fast here and without any crashes so far using a GTX Titan Black… which is a higher end gamer card. I also used a space navigator to test. So it may be related to the Quadro settings on your card, can you check http://wiki.mcneel.com/rhino/nvidiainfo and try the two power options listed at the bottom of the page?

Any luck?
