I changed my render mode to VRAY and now my file is stuck with this in the taskbar. I just got Vray and don’t know much about it yet, so I don’t know what is going on. My rhino isn’t saving anything and when I click the stop button it doesn’t do anything. Has this happened to anyone?
Try pressing enter
Yeah this stupid bug just bit me. Hadn’t seen it in several versions of vray but I guess its alive and well just as I was trying to save my file. Autosave isn’t there either, I tried opening another session to see if I can paste part of my geo that I want to save into it but it says “cannot copy geometry while a command is running” same error if I cut, paste etc. Everything appears to function, but I just can’t actually click on anything or click commands, or type commands. Only thing I can actually do is switch name views and move my view around.
Hitting enter just gives me that windows audible beep sound.
Dang. This one just happened to me too. Lost over an hour of work (also with a mysteriously absent autosave?).
This is typically caused by some sort of unhandled exception.
If you have a reliable way to reproduce it, please share
Just happened to me too. Lost over 2 hours of work, very frustrating.
Is there any way to remove it from display options at all? I just accidentally clicked it and got stuck in something I would never use at all
I’ve been having this same problem today. Especially if I hit the teapot render button in the VFB instead of going to the Vray tab in the toolbar and hitting the render button in the dropdown. And, I can’t stop or abort a rendering if I hit the teapot in the VFB instead of the dropdown. The only option is to ctrl+alt+del and end Rhino. It’s infuriating.
I remember this being a problem in older versions of Vray for Rhino too. Such a glitchy buggy program… I’m getting to the point where I just think it’s not the best for arch viz anymore. D5, Unreal engine, even Lumion, are more reliable and give damn good results. Vray is just so unreliable.
I use V-Ray every day and am very satisfied with its stability. Maybe it’s your computer, a hardware or driver problem?
Lenovo Legion with RTX 4090, core i9 14900HX… all drivers up to date.
If I hit any render buttons in the VFB, rhino and vray lock up. they don’t “freeze”, but the command line in Rhino gets stuck in the vray render command. You can’t cancel the command, and the command never completes, and rendering never initiates. In the VFB, you can never stop or abort the rendering, and the VFB never begins caching, building trees, or rendering.
The ONLY reliable way to initiate the render is to go to the Vray Tab in the toolbar, dropdown to rendering and hit “render”.
Interactive Render is also impossible to use.
This had been a problem for me in the last version of Vray, too. I can’t believe it’s still an issue that evidently so many of us have encountered.
