Rhino Start as "new Icon" on task bar instead of stack to pinned icon

Hi! recently after I update my Rhino 8. A strange behavior happen:

When I click Rhino 8 's Icon, it will start Rhino 8 as a new icon on the task bar.

Recording 2026-06-25 173413

Previously if I click the Rhino 8 's Icon pinned on the task bar. Rhino always stack the new winow on the same pinned Rhino 8 Icon. Other program I used doesn’t have this behavior.

For example, if I open multiple blener window: They will stack on the same positions:image

Does someone know the reason and how to fix it? Thank you!

I upgraded from Rhino6 to Rhino8, and also experiencing same issue, every rhino file i have open will create a new instance icon on my task bar, and I’ve tried the first 2 pages of options I can find on Google, none worked to reslove this.

Hi guys,

  1. Run the _SystemInfo command in Rhino and post the output here.
  2. Advise whether you have installed Windhawk on your PC at any time.

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you so much!

Any solution to this? It kind of irks me too.

Actually, just saw that it could be a Vray for Rhino forcing separate instances.
