Good morning,
I am an industrial plant technical designer. Over the years, I have received a lot of positive feedback for my ability to create 3D representations of complex plants using Rhino. This is mainly due to the software’s streamlined modeling approach compared to programs like SolidWorks or Inventor, which favor a part-by-part design workflow.
However, one thing that complicates my workflow on certain projects (mainly fabrication drawings for spray booths) is the lack of a sheet metal unfolding tool. I usually model sheet metal as solids without bends to make dimensioning and analysis easier during the design phase. But then, to get the flat pattern development, I find myself having to redraw almost from scratch in 2D CAD, using the Make2D tool whenever possible. Having a native complete sheet metal unfolding tool in the future would be fantastic.
May I ask if this is something you are considering for future updates?
