Rhino Mac Trouble with MakeHole

I’m having trouble using the MakeHole command in Rhino 5.x on Mac OS 10.14.6.

I am prompted to select a planar curve. I select the closed curve, then hit enter. The program then exits this command and states “No valid curve selected” on the bottom command line, even though it’s a closed curve. It does not prompt me to select a surface.

I can post a link to download the file if that would help.

If your curve is closed, but not planar also, that could be the possible problem.

ProjectToCPlane will do the trick then:
