I’ve just run across a strange issue since re-installing Rhino to the latest version.
When using rendered or arctic display modes in the viewport it’s giving me the soft look that I’m after, however when I show the same view through Layout space the ambient lighting is coming in much darker.
I can workaround the issue by changing the shadow intensity in the display mode settings but of course this isn’t ideal as I have to keep going back and forth for whether I’m in model space or layout space.
Has anyone come across this before and found a solution?

This is something @DavidEranen has been working on to fix, has to do with incorrect application of gamma correction I believe. I think if you update to latest service release candidate (7.12 at this time of writing) you should get already a fixed version. I’m not sure whether it was already fully fixed or if there were still issues - I think with maybe overlapping details. But I’ve tagged him to let him answer with the correct info.
