Rhino for Accessories will teach you the tools and methods to develop accessory design concepts into 3D models and technical drawings used for prototyping, range planning and fabricating with technologies like 3D printing. Students will learn these tools and methods through exercises to develop both an accessory that can be worn and one that can be carried.
This intensive and comprehensive course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation to extend and improve your current accessory design methods, whilst giving you the confidence to explore a world of unprecedented design possibilities.
The course include:
- Digitizing hand sketches into Rhino
- Designing accessories and molds for casting
- Designing accessories for machining, 3D printing or other sculpting methods
- Developing forms or lasts for shaping accessories by hand
- Preparing designs for grading and technical drawings
- Optional: Making artistic visualizations (renderings) of accessories designed in the class
- Optional: Prototyping with 3D printers and other digital fabrication technologies
About the instructor: Bryan Oknyansky is an international award-winning product architect known for inventing pioneering products. With 15 years of experience in the architecture, product, and footwear design industries, Bryan specializes in using the latest robotic manufacturing technologies like 3D printing to reinvent the world around us, one product at a time. Bryan founded Shoes By Bryan in 2012 – a London-based fashion and technology startup pioneering mass-market 3D-printed footwear unique to every foot while also looking and feeling great. Besides running his growing design practice, Bryan is an innovation consultant to many design industries, directs an independent CAD training program and is a Visiting Lecturer at Regent’s University London School of Fashion and Design, the Royal College of Art and London College of Fashion.
