I recently installed Rhino 8 on my mac after updating to MacOS 15.6. However booting Rhino after this clean installation I noticed a lag on all input, selecting, drawing a rectangle in a new file, everything.
Tried reinstalling rhino 8. Same result.
After that I tried installing an older version (7) and that one does not encounter these problems and works like a charm, but of course I want rhino 8 to run smoothly on this machine.

Do you recall which version of macOS you were on before? Mainly, I’m wondering if you were updating from something like macOS Sonoma to Sequoia when you noticed these problems, or if you were already on a different minor version of Sequoia.
(It does look like Apple is removing support for the iMacPro1,1 in macOS Tahoe.)
Well this is a 2017 version mac, so a bit older. But I recently bought it so there was no rhino on this computer before and I have no idea about the operating system because the computer was wiped before I bought it. The other systems in the office are running on Rhino 5 with MacOS Mojave, hence the need for an upgrade.
Ok, so if I’m understanding you correctly, you do not know if Rhino 8 ever ran properly on this iMac…is that right?
I’m trying to determine whether or not a recent release of macOS caused a regression. I wish I had an iMacPro1,1 to test with, but unfortunately I do not.
BTW, I just learned that you can see the update history of macOS in System Information > Software > Installations …then scroll to the macOS section. That’s handy. Though I’m not sure this helps us unless you have indeed run Rhino 8 on this Mac (without major issues) previously.
scouting on the internet a bit I tried to run with the 'testMetal’ command to see if the openGL rendering would improve things, but that didn’t help either.
Same problem here (2019 macbook pro 16” w/ intel core i9) , but with the latest update it seems to have gotten worse. I’m working (trying to, actually) on a file where even selecting things takes seconds (anything, from lines to large and small groups or blocks). I’d like this thing to be fixed but since I don’t have much time to wait i’m wondering if there’s a way to downgrade to the version I just came from (still way slower than 7 but usable). Any fix on both directions appreciated.
