Rhino 8 dimension layout snap misalignes with detail curves/objects

Hi there,

I have trouble snapping dimensions inside the detail. It seems that the displayed curve in the detail misaligns with the curve for the snap point. This makes it difficult to snap to proper points, confusing and sometimes wrong dimension annotation.

See my screenshot below:

The left violet vertical line is my displayed curve. And the right violet vertical line is the curve Rhino will snap to. If I use the snap points Rhino will let me, the dimension of this particular case is 5cm off compared to the same distance in my model. Currently, I am working on mac, but this problem has also occurred on windows.

Edit: I see that I have trouble capturing the screenshot of what I am explaining. However, you can see that my white rectangular curve and diagonal dimension are not aligned.

Edit2: I have tried to capture it on video for better understanding.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi Anže -

Could you update to the current 8.16 release candidate just to make sure that this issue is still present in that version?

Is that on two different machines or are you running Windows on the Mac?

Also, please post a .3dm file with just those violet and white curves that you are snapping to in the video.
Thanks,
-wim

Hello Wim,

thank you for your answer. After posting my problems I have already updated the program and for now no such problems occured.

I’ll post again if I encounter the same problem.
