Rhino 8 and Eddy3D?

Kia ora koutou

I have a copy of Eddy3D inside Rhino 7 that appears to be functional. It runs Blue_CFD Core 2020 with the Template files that work.

I note that the Grasshopper Components folder is shared between Rhino 7 and Rhino 8, and yet the Grasshopper interface in Rhino 8 does not show the EDDY3D components.

Is this deliberate?

I ask because I have 2 x classes this year, one with 200+ and one with 300+ students, so we have decided to install Rhino 8 (and LadyBugTools 1.7.1) across the school to esnure consistency in software they will likely install on their own computers and that we provide in class. This EDDY3D situation seems to guarantee that my PhD users of EDDY3D will have to work in a different (Rhino 7) environment than the students they are tutoring.

Are there work-arounds yet?

OMFG.

I have run Rhino as Administrator (what I used to do to get the @LadyBugTools plugin Butterfly working).

AND: Eddy3D now appears as an option above the Grasshopper canvas.

Michael,

the version 0.4.8.0 works fine with Rhino 7/8 on my end (Windows 11) and I am unable to reconcile the issue you are seeing. Please reach out via email to take a look.

Best,
