For some reason I’m not able to get the texts to appear in both model and layout views at the same time. Currently, they appear only in layout view. Any tricking in the settings to let texts appear also on model view.

Please make sure to keep the Enable model space scaling option checked. That should make text easier to work with a greatly different model vs layout scales.
