Rhino 7 switching to Layout is extremely slow

Hi is anyone having the issue that when they switch to layout it really drags- I havent actually ever waited for it to be done switching because I’ve waited over 20 minutes before. I end up force quitting Rhino then I try and open it again and it won’t open- waiting again for another 20 minutes- then I have to hard reboot my computer. It’s really making work extremely difficult. Also if I try and open a new file it does the same thing. I just upgraded to Big Sur. Also upgraded my 2019 iMac Retina 5k 27inch to 40GB of data.

Hello - I have not heard of this before I don’t think - you open Rhino and click on ‘Layouts…’ and Rhino freezes for 20 minutes? Are you opening existing files or starting from an empty Rhino with a clean new file?

-Pascal

Pascal, I’m having that same issue now. I was detailing in a layout and noted Rhino was slowing. I saved and quit. Reopening the same file in model view was fine until I tried clicking on a Layout which freezes the app. I’ve had the same issue in other files. Could it be an annotation or display issue?
-To update, the freeze is for about 15-20 min in either Technical or Pen Display.

Please enter SystemInfo into the command line and post the results here.

ah Mojave, please send us a file so we can try and reproduce?

upload to McNeel

Thanks

Also please try changing this setting in Preferences>OpenGL

That is the current setting. Changing it to…?

Hello - try 2x or even None, to see if that makes any difference.

-Pascal

The redraw between layouts is faster, but the zoom and scroll are still jumpy.
Sending the file now…
Thx,
-Greg

Bad object in the file buggering the render mesh creation.
