Rhino 7 Material and environment editor are not showing up

After opening STEP files and closing it, material and environment editor are not showing up.
I clicked “material editor” under render but rhino does not recognize the commend. This is a big issue for me. Please help.

Hey there, after looking up in 2 other discussions without a solution, I decided to ask again. As you can see in the screenshots, the materials panel isn’t showing up, neither the _materials comand is working.
