Rhino 7 crashing

Hey all,
I just upgraded from the 90-day free trial to the full rhino 7 version and put in the license key and all. But now after a couple of minutes of using rhino, it suddenly freezes and crashes which also freezes my entire computer and makes me have to use the power button on my laptop. Not sure what I did wrong, or what the problem is but rhino was working perfectly before I switched to the full version.

Your computer does not meet Rhino’s minimum System Requirements.

Thanks for the fast reply. Does the full version add anything to rhino? It worked fine previously in the free trial but for some reason that changed in a day.

No. Were you doing any real work with it? What is the actual rest of the system?

I have a Surface tablet with Xe graphics, and I mean it “works” for occasional work for certain definitions of “works,” until it crashes, but it doesn’t kill the whole computer.

Hi @Zackie_Wackie,

I’m not seeing any crash reports with your email address. When Rhino crashes, are you submitting reports?

Thanks,

– Dale

Hey Dale,
Usually what happens is rhino completely freezes, “(not responding)” and then will not let me close it, or force quit it. It completely freezes my computer and I have to shut it down with the power button and then there is no report to submit.

Hi @Zackie_Wackie,

This behavior is generally video and/or video driver related.

When this happens again, launch Window’s Task Manager, right-click on the Rhino process, and pick “Create Dump FIle.” Then. upload the big dump file using the link below. Add any comments, such as what you were doing or what command you ran.

I’m an architecture major so I usually work on it daily.
