Rhino 6 lagging/freezing when using undo/redo, copy and anything material related

Hi,

Since upgrading to Rhino 6 I’ve been experiencing lagging and freezing when using various commands. Mainly “redo” and “undo” cause the longest lags along with “copy” and any material scaling or applying materials to the scene with Vray Next.

I’ve experienced it in different files and even small files. I’m working on a brand new PC with an excellent graphics card (Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 B) so I can’t figure out why it would be running so slowly. The same issues are not happening when running Rhino 5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it’s making it impossible to roll out Rhino 6.

Can you test for some time with Enscape and V-Ray plug-ins disabled?

Hi,

Thank you for your speedy reply.

Yes - when I disable V-Ray all works smoothly!
I have V-Ray for Rhino 6 4.10.2 installed on my machine.
Perhaps I will uninstall this version of V-Ray and reinstall version 4.00.02 and see if it works.

Installing the older V-Ray 4. 00 solved the lagging/freezing issue.
Although now I’m having display issues.

If I have Enscape enabled, any material that I create in Vray, displays as transparent in Rendered Mode - like the image I’ve attached, even though these materials do not render transparent and I’ve checked all the parameters inside of the Vray material editor.

Is this a Vray issue? Or is there something I’m needing to turn off or on somewhere in Rhino Options?

Help muchly appreciated.

@Tamsin, I don’t know. If everything works as expected without the plug-ins then I’d contact the developers of V-Ray plug-in and Enscape plug-in to get this sorted.

Yip. Will do. Thanks very much for your help!
