Rhino 6 for mac - really slow response time

Hi all,

I just upgraded from Rhino v5 to v6 and am quite disappointed regarding the performance - working with the program has become really annoying as I have a very slow response time when clicking on an object - it takes roughly half a second until it gets selected and I can work on it. In v5 object selection was almost real-time…
Anybody else experiencing this? Any way to improve response time?
Thank you!

I can confirm that, the worst are annotations and text. Let’s hope for some future enhancement.

Hi - can you both run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here?

I had performance issues several months ago with my Macbook Pro early 2017, trying out the beta version of Rhino mac v6. The program was just slow in response and very laggy to use. The new versions (6.23) solved that problem and I was able to buy two upgrades for our offices. Using them happily now, Rhino 6 is killer and a big improvement.

The only perfomance issues I experience sometimes is by importing large dwgs. Obviously there is still some work to be done, because extensive dwg is the basic drawing info you get from clients and contractors. You need to be able to import them and work with high performance.

Hi @wim, sorry, saw it right now:

suffering with make2d generating slowly, and then trying to drag the linework generated is almost impossible :weary:

Thanks for the SystemInfo data so far.
Could you post a typical file that is slow or does that happen with a new file from a factory-default template with just two rectangles and a single dimension?
-wim

For some reason it has become significantly faster with the last update - I hope it stays this way!

It was a disaster when 6 was in Beta. I couldn’t use it on our computers. 6.24 is now pretty good, only in 2d drafting and layout it is still laggy. Hope they are able to improve that also.
