I’ve recently upgraded to Rhino 6 at my office and I’m currently having an issue with the UI/Docked Tabs saving settings. On the right hand side I like to ‘dock’ the layers, layer state, properties, named views, named Cplanes and lights, however everytime I open Rhino it seems to reset to the default.
Any suggestions on how to get Rhino to save UI settings? I’ve tried saving the toolbar settings and changing the toolbar default with no luck.
Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping it wouldn’t require that, I currently don’t have access to Admin rights (neither do my coworkers). Is there any way to do this without bothering our office’s IT support? In Rhino 5, the UI settings saved without admin rights.
If not then I will have to contact them and see if they can temporarily grant our Rhino users admin rights in order to set up preferences (our IT support is based externally).
Hi Mitchell - well, it is not guaranteed to work but we’ve found in the past that running Rhino at least once as admin often helps sort out some of these UI-layout issues.
Found a rather simple solution which seems to work. Once I had arranged the UI with docked tabs how I wanted them in any rhino file, I saved the file and then restarted the computer before opening rhino again.
It seems that the issue was with Rhino resetting to default settings with each opening. Somehow a restart saved the UI settings.
