Rhino 6 - Can't change materials

Hi, I hope my question will be silly and fast fixing, since today I can’t change materials on my models.

I used to generate a layer with a proper material, and then creating same material’s object in the same layer but now it’s not working.
I still can change color layer but not material, material column looks freezed

(not running any command)

Thanks for you time

Hello- please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

Are you trying to change a material in a Block?

The Computer are pretty new and strong, if this was the point, or tell me which line you need?
Thank you for answering

No, I’m not.
Should be a setting issue

Thank you for answering

Hi -

Nothing less than the entire outcome of that command.

Hello - if you click on the (faint) white dots here

nothing happens, is that what you are reporting?

-Pascal

Yeah, when double cliking on there I can’t change the material,
The other columns, like type or color, are editable as always but not the materials one.

Hi -

In the PluginManager, please check that the Renderer Development Kit UI plug-in is both Loaded and Enabled.

thenkyou for answering, the renderer development kit ui isnt enabled and loaded, infact down in the same window I have the install (installa) botton, should I have somwhere the install file? or should I install from zero Rhino?

After just enabling it the materials are still unchangable, so the problem isn’t fixed.

How’s possible it has been unistalled by itself?

Hi -

Just enabling will not suffice. You also need to load that plug-in. Right-click on the plug-in name and pick “Load”.

Alternatively, you could try to “Repair” the installation from the Windows Control Panel.
If you keep having problems with this, I would see what happens when the Lumion plug-in is disabled.

The load process has been done automatically after restart, the problem look like it’s fixed, many thanks.

Right now
has appeared this 2 window asking to load plug-in now, but doesn’t generate any issue.

One more question with “system info” may I ask you what have you checked?

Hi -

I would try a repair of that installation.

Everything.

So I should download the setup file from mcneel.com and run the setup with the repair option, understood.
Once again many thanks for you time and kindness

Hi -

No. You don’t need to download anything. Just go to the Windows Control Panels → Programs and Features. Find Rhino 6, right-click and pick “Change”. Then pick “Repair”.
