Regression with _Flow

There has been a regression to _ Flow sometime in the past two months (I’m on release candidates). It randomly stops using the CPlane’s Z direction and starts randomly rotating the flowed objects around the target curve. Other times, it will randomly invert the Z direction.

FlowRegression.3dm (124.9 KB)

Steps to reproduce:

It’s random, but I found a repeatable way to get the arrows to rotate:

-SelName FlowBase
-SetPt Pause YSet=Yes ZSet=Yes XSet=No 0,-20,0

The only workaround is to specify the CPlane’s Z axis by setting Roadlike=Yes for every flow command.

@Gijs Do you see the same behavior? I started noticing it sometime after RH-82761 was fixed.

hi @EricM thanks for reporting
RH-83381 Flow History update rotates the object

RH-83381 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 11

Thanks @Gijs and @mikko. This was a major pain, and the fast turnaround is greatly appreciated.

And sorry for the errant info. Two months ago, I started updating four-year-old part templates and noticed the random normal rotation. In my daily usage of _Flow, I extract an iso from my part templates and use its normal direction.
