Reflected Ceiling Plans

Wondering if anyone has a system for a reflected ceiling plan.

I’ve got one:

  1. Create an active clipping plane in a bottom view.
  2. Make2D
  3. Set view to top
  4. Mirror/rotate the make 2D as required.

It’s not going to create a reflected rendered view of the model (except as a mirrored bitmap of a bottom view) but it’s better than nothing. Come to think of it, maybe a mirrored bitmap of a bottom view is simpler and more complete.

Hi David -

If this is in the Rhino 8 WIP, there’s the Parallel Reflected projection for parallel views that might get you a bit along…

That’s excellent good news for the Rhino 8 release thanks Wim (but I’m leary of using a WIP version - in my industry there’s so much pressure to produce without hitches.)

Have to identify the best way(s) with Rhino7 for now.

Hi -

FWIW -It’s not the answer but some users though this prototype plug-in that Jeff wrote a long time ago was getting close…

A few posts later in that thread, Sam links to a different thread in which the problems with that are discussed.

Hi, I am pretty new to Rhino (or any modeling software) - I’m looking to design a lighting plan on an RCP and curious if there are the traditional lighting icons I can download from somewhere so I don’t have to build them all myself from scratch? Thanks so much for any advice you have to share!

Hi Kat -

I’m afraid I don’t know what “traditional lightning icons” means, but I would assume that you’ll find a site somewhere that provides what you need if you use descriptive words in a Google search.
