You’re right. I don’t know the answer either. GDI+ I think simply wasn’t designed to draw large amounts of text all in one go. GDI reserves small amounts of memory for caching objects needed during drawing, such as fonts, fills, pens and images. If one of those pools runs out, it’ll just stop working with an ‘out of memory’ error, even though you may well have gigabytes of memory left outside of those pools. The size of the pools depends on the Windows version btw. it’s not a constant.
