I dont think that I’m the first one with this problem, but couldnt find the right topic:
I created a surface and trimmed it. now I want to rebuild it, but it always shows me the deleted part.
Which means the grid structure makes no sense.
Here you can see the problem:
The grid goes over the line of the surface right now, because its connected to the original.
But I want the new grid only on the surface how it is now.
I read the articles, thank you!
Any other suggestions?
generally if you post a file instead of a picture it will save people asking for it which happens around here far too often, i like typing so i dont mind but it gets tiring you can believe me
other than that, rebuilding it to have an untrimmed surface might not work so easy since you now seem to have 6 edges. Nurbs Surfaces have only 4. now you can get around that by tweaking some edges, but that is usually not a good approach.one method getting there would be to build it up with 2 surfaces which you then can merge using MergeSrf and unchecking the option smooth, but this can lead to quite some problems further in your modeling process.
anyhow it would be important to understand what your further steps are to see if not trimmed surfaces would do a better job already for your case.
