Raytrace Shadow Control / Is there a way to make the Raytrace Shadow Softer?

Hello there, I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the softness of the raytrace shadow ? Somehow my raytrace shadow looks very sharp, (imgae 1). Image 2 is the desired look I am trying to achieve. Thanks. By the way, I am using spot light for the internal.

You can use an area light like rectangular ligts.
