Raytrace mapping

Anyone else having the issue seen below. First image is rendered view, second is from raytraced mode.
Rhino seems to adjust the material mapping to some default in raytraced which cannot be altered.

In this example I am using sub-object materials, but the problem occurs if not using sub-object.

Hello - I cannot repeat that here so far - can you export that object and textures and post it or send to tech@mcneel.com?

-Pascal

Here you are.

material mapping play 2.3dm (638.5 KB)

Hello - thanks, I see the problem in this model…

-Pascal

Is it a model units/scale thing? Units inches. Box is 6’ x 20’ x 13’

Quick guess would be the multiple uv mappings are not beeing handled correctly. @pascal, can you log a YT item for me, please?

Yep…

-Pascal

Thanks guys. YT item?

@larchitect

I think you will get good results when you remove the second mapping channel (the one for paint). When I do that both Rendered mode and Raytraced look similar in mapping.

The YT item means bug report. While it appears that for this model you can work around as I showed Raytraced naturally should do a better job when there are multiple channels available. I need to investigate that further, the bug report will help me remember to that (:

I see. Thanks Nathan.

RH-50090 is fixed in the latest Rhino 7 Service Release Candidate

Thanks, Brian!

Sorry it took such a long time to get to this. But it’s done now!
