R8 Arctic transparency bug?

Trying to change transparency of a layer per detail in a derivative of Arctic display mode. Decreasing opacity makes the display blacker, somehow. Seems quite whack.

What is going on here?

Any ideas? Why does increasing transparency in Arctic make it display darker and less transparent?

Hi, you might have better luck using a material with transparency and rendered mode.

Or change those object display mode to shaded or ghosted or some other custom display mode with command SetObjectDisplayMode.

As described here arctic and transparency are not exactly supported.

Thanks for the post. Wow,

is true all right.

Yeah, I’m doing that already. This fails for objects within blocks that appear in more than one viewport, and there are some wacky issues with coincident faces in rhino 8 that don’t happen for me in 7.

Back to juggling tons of view display options, print previews, display colors, lack of transparency when transparency is editable, layer proliferation, By Parent doesn’t work, buggy PDF generation, print settings do not persist, viewports don’t update and clicking is required, what you see is NOT what you get, and the like.

Thank you though. I hadn’t found that post.
