Query Linked Elements in View

Hi guys,

I have a structural model linked to architectural model. And I want to get all the columns in the active view. But Query View Elements doesn’t get Linked View elements. Is there any way we can achieve this?

the primary workaround (see links below) is to get the views bounding box and cull the Elements not in the view box.

Get linked geometry of multiple linked models

@scottd I’ve managed to replicate this and I just wanted to confirm something. Your method is getting all of the geometry from a linked model based on the LINKED MODEL’S view, correct? So for this to work, each model would need to have the view setup and filters applied within that model. What I was after was using the active’s model view settings (inc filters and hidden elements) to return the linked geometry. Does this make sense? It sounds like it might not be possible.

That’s in Autodesk’s ballcourt, I haven’t seen anything in 2024, maybe in 2025?

Hope will keep us alive, linked models are particularly annoying with Revit, loss of tags, impossibility to auto view extent on linked elements and so forth,
