Rhino 8, push pull behavior is odd. I want to move a portion of a face of a solid back “into” the solid. I have done this 1000 times successfully and I am not sure why Rhino is behaving differently now. I subdivide the face with a line. In push pull I select the portion of the face I want to move. It does not turn a solid yellow like it does normally. I does let me select the portion of the face. When I push the face and complete the command it has created a new solid and the original face remains unmoved.
PushPull under the hood performs solid operations, so if these fail, the extruded geometry is given as a new object.
Can you post the failing geometry?
Its a really simple box form. I’ve made a duplicate and another next to it showing the result of the push pull.
Can you post the geometry (3dm file)?

Probably the upper face have some problems…
If you extract the top planar surface and delete it, then perform a “cap” to close the polysurface, the problem is solved…
Also, I’ve tried to reproduce the problem on another polysurface with same shape and size but push pull works as expected…

Thanks for sending the file. As @lucio_zadra found, there is something with the top surface that seems to cause issues, but I can’t figure out what it is.
I’ve logged the file for @Joshua_Kennedy to look at.
