Push mesh to meet new lines on same axis

I was hoping to understand the best way to achieve the following: to push this mesh to meet the edge line which will allow me to sculpt to the road area I’m hoping to extend to.

I was thinking cage edit, but it seems to resist actually pushing outwards to make a wider roadway.

Ultimately I’m trying to explore methods of freeform road modelling starting with an existing rough concept road.

Thank you

select the outside edges of the mesh and flow them onto your curve-

you may need a few more polygons to get a decent result, but it works-

turn on control points select the points you want to stretch and use the command Align with option to curve. you might have to adjust some crucial parts manually but that will get the bulk over.

there are many more methods probably.

edit:

ok i had a minute, you could also use DupMeshEdge on the existing mesh, use SimplifyCrv on the result, draw the area you want to extend to completely connecting to the existing mesh and use PlanarMesh, then join the meshes

but honestly your method to stitch stuff together may not be a good way. you best outline the new area and create entirely new surfaces rather than mesh, if you later still need mesh then convert them or use PlanarMesh on the new outlines, fiddling around with meshes at this level is not going to make you happy.
