Problem with Hops server needing manual launch

Hi - I am wondering if anyone can help with a problem I have been having for a while. To get Hops to run locally, I have to manually launch the ‘compute.geometry.exe’ file each time. When I run this command, it spins up the local server, and my GH script containing Hops components runs fine.

If I try to launch the GH script without running ‘compute.geometry.exe’ first, then I get an error message on loading (“Object’Hops’ {…} failed to deserialize itself: One or more errors occurred”), and the Hops components disappear from the Canvas.

I originally found this workaround via some older posts on this forum (e.g. here)- I was wondering if there was a more permanent fix?

My solver settings are as follows:

I have Rhino Version 7 SR25 (7.25.22326.19001, 2022-11-22) and Hops v0.15.4, running on Windows.
