Hello,

Since I upgraded my rhino 7 to rhino 8 my space mouse is not working anymore. The mouse is working in Solidworks, autocad and Navisworks. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem?

My labtop is standing in this link;

hi @Stan_Spin
Can you run _SystemInfo and post back the result?
What driver version of the space mouse are you using?
Are you able to test this on other computers?
I don’t have a wireless space mouse here to test with, so I’ll ask a colleague to have a look.

just to be sure, the mouse is still working correctly in Rhino 7, just not in Rhino 8?
System info looks fine.

Yes, it was at least one week ago.

It would be good for trouble shooting to make sure it still does, assuming you did not uninstall Rhino 7

Do you still have Rh7 installed? i had to disable it on Rh7 and it worked again on Rh8

I recently had to add anew sequence of tools to my checklist.

It was something relative to literally finding a file and manually deleting stuff.

I’ll try to find it. brb.

So, basically the #1 main solution to all the 3d mouse problems in this world is to uninstall and fresh install.

And you have to unplug device etc.

But finally, there’s this new solution that I learned which seems to fix the new problems but I guess it fixed old ones too

So, it’s new solution to me but it’s only cause I recently learned and used it.

Although I think I learned it from @Rhino_Bulgaria 's posts before but takes me a while to remember these cool tricks. And I think I’ve only done it once or twice, so next time I have an issue I’m going to be searching these threads again. :money_mouth_face:

It’s the super duper fresh install trick cause you delete those secret files that are causing conflicts or something lol.

Side note, I wonder if Linux would be more 3d mouse friendly haha.

A fresh installation of the drivers will not necessarily delete some leftovers from the previous installation, this is why me and other users with a 3d mouse had so many troubles in the past. Obviously, if there is some conflict even after a full uninstallation, that means that there are some hidden files and folders that cause the incompatibility with the device. It takes a few minuted with the Windows Explorer search to figure out where those leftovers are located. This is how I found those folders years ago and since then I have their directories stored in a Notepad file for a quick fix when needed.
