Hi all,
Maybe I need to go back to 101, but when applying woodgrain texture (drag and drop) onto an object, I’m never sure which way the grain is going to go. So I’m hoping for some pointers so I can record a direction in a part (scripted in user text or a vector direction) to pre-set a default direction for the grain.
So an end panel will by default be vertical, a door or drawer will also by default be vertical.
A kicker piece or rail will be default be horizontal.
As I’m setting this up for other users, I don’t want them to have to edit the mapping - I’ll create a ‘form’ by which they can toggle the direction if they choose, and assume to be able to script the editing of the mapping in the background.
So essentially I want the user to be able to drag and drop a texture on to an object (or a layer) and the texture will be pointing in the right direction. I’d like it also to be stretched (fitted) over the size of the panel, not tiled.
Hoping that makes sense!
Thanks, Adrian
