Since I installed the back-up on my new device, grasshopper has been facing this issue. It happens with all sorts of pop-ups, I cannot close them and depending on the type they restrict me from using the program. I already updated to the newest build (rhino 7), but to no avail.
I have a bit of a deadline and I’m at a loss. Help would be much appreciated
Does this particular one close if you use one of the buttons?
If you mean the exit button on the pop-up itself: no. That’s my first guess of course haha
No I meant the ‘open recovery file’ etc. buttons.
Just today on a different forum for a different software someone was saying they were getting a normal startup pop-up that wouldn’t close which sounded very strange.
Mac is the only common denominator.
I am spreading rumors - cannot confirm Mac.
No, nothing worked. I ended up force-quitting the program and upon opening again the recovery file had apparently gone lost. This meant no pop-up in other words; I could open it again.

Thanks for the video. That certainly is an odd one. I’m definitely having trouble reproducing this here.
I can see from the video that you definitely have some third-party components installed. I would be curious if you still see this behavior if you temporarily moved all the files/folders in Libraries (File > Special Folders… > Components Folder) to your Desktop and then restarted Rhino and Grasshopper. Does the weird behavior persist?
