Pattern by few colors -( reduce gradient colors to a set of few )

Hello,

I’m trying to do a pattern that resembles falling rain for a facade in terracotta. Combining remapped values ( based on distance between the facade pieces and a random point ) and the graph mapper I have many different options.

But I would like to control better my definition, especially I have two main concerns:
1)how to control more precisely the rhythm of the colors and 2) how to decrease the gradient colors to a set of few colors, as it will be a more realistic solution.

Thanks for your attention :} hope to receive some good suggestions

Peter,

My method is to create a set of t values limited to the amount of colors you want to have, then find the closest t value in the set for each panel. Simple and quick.
