Hey There. I am a furniture designer using Rhino for years now. I was wondering if there is any feature that export h/w/d-data (height width depth) from 3d-objects i mark and export. I tried to export it to .csv but won’t get the right information.
Would be so much easier for example if you build kitchen cabinets and get your part list immediately.
The most control for creating csv is going to be in grasshopper, if you would like to try it i can provide a definition if you post/upload some example geometry.
Hey there i gave it a try. Since i am compeletly new to coding of any kind i though gh might be visually easier than rhino script or python to learn.
This is my first Grasshopper Project, be kind with my “code” i have no idea what i am doing i just downloaded all kinds of plugins and just search for command i would like to do in order to reach my goal, of a carpenter friendly part list.
I couldn’t figure lunchbox excel out, but TTToolbox worked just fine.
1st: I still need to find a way to create a minimum bounding box with a object based construction plane (i normally use a downloaded python command for that) time runs out havent reasearched yet
2nd: I need to count same object either by name or by the same length of the bounding box, count them and kick them out of the rbaches somehow.
I will keep you updated. Since this is my first Project and it took me only 3-4 hour. I am very happy how far i got.
I need no help in solving the puzzle, maybe just a check if my direction is kind of straight
And a suggestion for sorting double objects and counting them.
