Hello, in my work I often find myself having to design hoppers and pipes for suction systems. The only method I’ve found to draw them is by drawing the individual surfaces and then joining them, but I waste a lot of time. I was wondering if with Grasshopper there is a way to parameterize this process. For example, looking at the piece in the video I uploaded, if there was a way to just provide the base of the rectangle, diameter of the circle, height and offset of the bases. I was intending to buy a Grasshopper course, but I would first like to be sure that it is the right tool. What do you say?
YES - that would be excellent task to automate with Grasshopper and also a very good project to learn a Grasshopper work flow.
Cheers
DK
I think there are many many ways to get the very same shape by using one tenth of the components I used here… but if this might inspire you to enter the grasshoppah world then… welcome

btw, you can double click sliders to change their domains in whatever you want, add decimals… and so on
Thank you, you gave me the job done! Can I ask you what version of Rhino do you use? When I open your file the curved surfaces are broken
I’m on Version 7 SR31 (7.31.23166.15001, 2023-06-15)
I did the curved surfaces as Sweep2, they probably can be done in different ways
Ah ok, I usually make them with the NetworkSrf command. You have been very useful
maybe ExtrudeToPoint works better for the round corners?

Much better! It works like a charm!
