Hi All!
I am currently working on a definition that will allow anyone (ie. non architects / laymen) to lay out a simple modular home within an archetypal framework with basic controls for room dimensions, count, and furniture arrangement etc.
I have included the definition as is below. It does work for the most part however, the furniture arrangements are not tied to the room sizes in any real way and overall it is fairly clunky. I was suggested to try using kangaroo physics and bounding boxes to have furniture populate from a checklist to prevent overlap or intersections however I am not particularly familiar with K2 and am completely unsure where to start.
Eventually I would like to be able to host the definition through a web based UI for deployment to a local community we are working with who are in great need of housing which can be rapidly designed and deployed. Id be happy to share more info on this if it would help or anyone is curious about the project. I’ve also included some renderings of the typology which has just been modeled in rhino, however is based around a potential layout
.
I’m hoping someone could point me in the right direction to some relevant information so I can get going on a new iteration, OR of course if you have any other suggestions/comments I would be thrilled to hear them!
Thanks and looking forward to hearing what yall have to say!
