Hello all
With the object attributes available in Rhino 8 Grasshopper, is it possible to get the texture mapping of the object too? I’ve looked everywhere. When I extract the material from a Rhino object and reapply it somewhere, I could really use the relevant texture mapping information too.
If not then I think it would be a good addition to this already great feature.
In the properties panel, choose the texture mapping (red cylinder) icon, then the ‘show mapping’ icon (red box I think). The mapping icons/gizmos will be shown in the viewport. Select them and change params.
Thanks @Eugen, I mean access to that information in Grasshopper via the Model Object/Attributes component. I have access to alot of other information but that part is missing in my opinion.
Adding support for texture mapping is definitely on our road map. In fact, I’ve recently added a bunch of new components to Rhino 9 which handle Textures and Materials. The next step is Mapping. Unfortunately, it is not ready yet, so at the moment, I’m not aware of a way to extract this information via Grasshopper. But stay tuned, as it’s definitely something we plan to address as quickly as we can. Thanks for the suggestion.
