Not being able to trim curves

Hello,
I am not being able to trim the lines with the rectangles. What I want to achieve is that the rectangles trim the lines inside it so they wont appear. Anyone know what is happening?

Is this the intended result?

It can make it easy to unify the trimming regions (RUnion) and then use Trim With Regions.
