I’d like to share Reticle, a free and open-source Grasshopper plugin for centered division of curves and surfaces.
The Problem
Grasshopper’s built-in Divide Distance and Divide Length components start from one end of a curve, leaving an uneven remainder at the opposite end.
If equal margins are required on both sides, this often leads to repetitive workarounds.
The Solution
Reticle divides geometry from the center outward, ensuring equal remainders on both sides.
Components
• Divide Centered — Divides curves with equal spacing from the center
• Divide Surface Centered — Divides surfaces in UV space with equal spacing from the center, outputting data trees
Both components include an Ends toggle to control endpoint behavior.
