New Command "Picture"

Hello,

I am using Rhino 6 since a few weeks and am having issues with the new “picture” command.

I would like to place a picture in a layout detail window.

This picture should only be visible in the detail and NOT in the viewports!

Any solutions?

Thanx!

Put it ON the layout and not in the detail window, and you should be fine.

Thank you for answering Holo

But the picture has to be in the detail and not on the Layout!

Thanx

So either put it on a separate layer and use layer manager to toggle the states, or put it on top of the detail and adjust it so it looks right.

A Detail is a view of the model, so you can not have it both visible and invisible in the model at the same time without doing some stuff to turn it on and off.

Thank you for answering! But I am not really looking for a workaround.

With Rhino 5 (And still in Rhino 6…until a next update!) it was possible to just hide the “backround bitmap” in the model area and show it in the detail area without any extra layers needed to make visible/invisible. So you can make a screenshot of the actual model and the bitmap in the layout view without seeing the bitmap in the rest of the model views.

See attatched picture. (Layout as floating window)

As this is a very easy solution I would just like to know if anybody has found a way to make this work with the new picture command.

Thanx!
