Nested clusters losing references?

I’m not using clusters that often (not the best experiences from the past) but thought give it another try … anyway I’ve encountered an issue with nested clusters (clusters inside other clusters) that I’m hoping someone can clarify.
I’ve noticed that when I have clusters nested within other clusters, they seem to lose their references. Specifically, when I make modifications to a nested cluster, these changes are not being updated in other instances of the same cluster type within the parent cluster.

Is this the expected behavior for nested clusters? are there any known workarounds to enable proper updating of nested clusters? Thanks in advance for your help!

ok … not possible as david explains it here, Cluster disentangled without notice

I don’t really use clusters/referenced gh files that much, but to be fair I’m very surprised by that :upside_down_face:

if I have understood correctly, it looks like the only solution to have a nested cluster to entangle is to save it as a separate file, which has to be referenced even inside the very same gh document ?

which would mean that cluster entaglement “survives” just a single level of nesting

FYI:

As david explains it , it kinda makes sense from a engineering perspective, but as a end user ‘a cluster is just a cluster’ and one expects identical behavior. Let’s hope v2 is more intuitive
