Need of help - patch not trimming

Hey guys

I have a problem with patch, and would like a little advice from the masters

here I constantly get a patch that simply does not trim automatically.

Any suggestions on why this happens and suggestions?

Hello - does the curve or curves form a closed loop? My guess is not.
