Need Help: Problem with thousands of Physically Based Materials

First of all thanks for reading this thread. I am new on this forum.

I used rhino for architecture model. Sometimes i do some previews of the models directly in rhino by adding materials in: Properties-Materials-i usually choose plastic and sometimes custom when i need to add a texture. I usually create less than 10 materials just to have a rough preview of the model.

It happened a few times that after have open and saved a couple time the file that i have thousand of Physically Based Material of the same colours. It makes the material library very hard and slow to browse.

Would somebody know why rhino duplicates the material of the scene into thousands of physically based material? Its really really annoying.

Please post the results of the Rhino command _SystemInfo.

You can try using the command _RenderMergeIdenticalMaterials to decrease the amount of materials.

RH-67902 is fixed in Rhino 7 Service Release 18
