Hi everyone my name is Georgi, I am 19 years old and I just wanted to share the first thing I made in Rhino 8 after completing a few tutorials from Kyle @McNeel. I decided to create one of my personal favorites the McLaren 720s Spider. It was made entirely in SubD ( except the windows) and rendered in Keyshot. I know it is not perfect, but I hope you enjoy! Just so you know I have almost 1 year of experience in Blender. I am still using the free version of Rhino 8 and the link below is to download the file, if you want you can also support me so I can afford to buy Rhino and keep creating (hopefully) cool stuff. You can download the files for free by typing 0 or type in as much as you feel like. Thank you in advance!

I just started studying Automotive Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. 3D is like an extra skill that I am working on that I feel would be very useful later on. Either way I really enjoy doing it, so I will probably study design basics on my own.
That being said I am open to book recommendations or stuff that helped you along the way! Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestions I will definitely check them out! I don’t speak Italian , but I think I will still upload it there as well. Spoiler: Working on a widebody kit as well…
would be a great opportunity to learn a beautiful language, who knows you might find love in italy, god she might bash you daily till you speak it PRONTO!
@Georgi_Slavov Okay, don’t worry, I thought that since you were studying at the University of Turin you were Italian, I had assumed you spoke Italian.
Anyway, I want to point out this company from my area. Unfortunately, it’s not close to Turin, it’s located in central Italy, but they manufacture parts and design components for the automotive sector, F1, FE, and companies like Ferrari and other car manufacturers, including one-of-a-kind cars (stuff for a few millionaires).
It would be very instructive for you to understand what they do in this industrial sector.
They also work in the aerospace sector, general design, and naval industries.
Wow thanks! I really appreciate it! They look like the real deal. They are a bit far away for sure. It would be an absolute dream to work in a place like that, or even go there as just an intern.
Wow Georgi. With the amount of experience you have with Rhino, I would say you have a very bright future indeed. I look forward to seeing your name on car designs in the future. Keep it up. I would say your on the right track.
Made a widebody kit. Tell me what you guys think! It kind of reminds me of a shark, but you be the judge of that! It was sort of inspired by Adro M4 in the sense that the body panels are glued, not bolted on.
I’d like to bring this tutorial on SubD/Mesh modeling to your attention. Although it’s made using Blender, I believe the workflow could be integrated into the modeling process in Rhino. I’d also like to point it out to @Lee_Rosario , as he is mentioned in the tutorial and might already be aware of it. If he has seen it, it would be helpful to know if he considers it a good tutorial.
Hi Adrien! Unfortunately there is no specific tutorial I followed, but I found one you can follow in Blender(for McLaren 720s). The thing that Kyle said above you is 100% true! You can learn Subd in any software and it is basically the same in all of them! You just need to sort of “translate” it into the toolset of the software you are using. I had a background in Blender(basically only subdivision modeling), so I got the hang of it pretty quick! You can find a lot of Blender tutorials for free and with a little bit of trial and error you can do the tutorials in rhino! If you need any tips feel free to ask! And for the model it took me about 30-35 hours, I do not know exactly!
