Hello! I’m with this strange situation where I have a box, and want to make a chamfer of it, but when I move the 2 perpendicular edges the geometry distorts in a concave way, when i was used to use sketchup its distortion should be in a flat way…
heres a print: on the left is what is happenning, on the right is what i need to be… (i know i can just create a solid with those lines i create, but always doing this is time consuming)
I also want to know if there is a way to add lines that divide the faces into sub-objects like this:
sketchup is based on editing mesh faces, dealing with nurbs all that might look a bit different in general of course also some tools are set up different in each software.
here you would have to split the faces before attempting to pull the edges like you want. i also dont believe that this would be possible in sketchup that exact why you imagine.
at least here probably a few more but i have no time now to elaborate on it further
if you still have access to sketchup i would be interested how that would look like if you want to make a short video, it might also be beneficial for developers in case one has a look.
if you look at the first video it creates additional edges after its being pulled out if you split the face there in rhino it will look the same. the only thing sketchup does is to add it automatically
